Vivek Vardhini Sangeet Mahavidyalaya
The Vivek Vardhini Educational Society is a 114 year old educational society based in Hyderabad, Telangana. The Vivek Vardhini Sangeet Mahavidyalaya (VVSM) was initiated on October 18th, 1951 to impart training in the musical arts. The Dawre School music institute based in Badi Chawdi, Hyderabad one of the oldest music classes instituted in the whole city, with an expansive education program in Hindustani Vocal music, Kathak dancing, Harmonium playing, Tabla playing among others. People of all ages, from 5 years old to 65 years old, participate in their musical training at our Badi Chawdi campus.
Responding to the growing demand of enthusiasts, we revived our institution at Nallakunta after a 10-year hiatus on the 5th of December, 2017 under the guidance of the COI committee led by Shri. Prakash Tuljapurkar and Shri. Ravindra Hippalgaonkar. Building on the progress of the Badi Chawdi centre, our Nallakunta branch was initiated with the aim of training people from all ages in both the Hindustani and Carnatic styles. Every year, several of our students appear for the examinations in music conducted by the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya (ABGM). The Badi Chawdi campus hosts these examinations for as many as 500 students annually.
The faculty of the Vivek Vardhini Educational Society runs these two music and art schools efficiently, under the management of the COI committee. Our current COI chairman is Mr. Pranav Gharapurikar and secretary is Mr. Aditya Godse. We aspire to deliver the best in terms of quality art education in the Twin Cities under one roof.
